Description
Here’s the sound of the 80’s & 90’s!
The LinnDrum -unofficially known as the LM2- was the second drum machine from Linn Electronics following the LM-1.
With more samples and features, the LM2 became very popular in the mid 1980’s and found it’s way on many, many of the biggest recordings of the time. Probably more than you might realize! Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, Judas Priest, Michael Jackson and Billy Idol are just a few artists that featured the sounds of the LinnDrum on their albums.
The LinnDrum features 15 sounds including bass, snare, rimshot, hihat, crash, ride, three toms, cabasa, tambourine, high and low congas, cowbell, and clap. Up to 12 sounds are available simultaneously. Individual controls are available to tune, pan, and mix each drum sound via dedicated knobs and sliders. An Accent is available for the kick, snare and hats.
It features 56 user patterns for storing your drum patterns as well as 42 preset drum patterns. The patterns can be arranged into Songs for which there are 49 memory locations.
This machine appears to be in good working condition, it does power up and I believe most of the functions work.
I have run through it quickly but admittedly, I am not completely familiar with using and programming with it.
The rechargeable batteries have been replaced.
The sliders are fairly smooth, the Tuning controls are quiet but the Volume control has a bit of scratchiness, which could most likely be eliminated with cleaning.
It has not been fully gone through and could probably use a thorough cleaning and check over.
It is being sold as is, as described here.
