Gibson J-50 Acoustic approx. 1970-72 – SOLD

Description

Gibson J-50 Acoustic approx. 1970-72 – SOLD

Here’s a great playing and fantastic sounding Gibson J-50 from the early 70’s – somewhere around 1970-72.

This one won’t win any beauty contests, it is definitely a player that has been played. Judging by the tone, I know why it’s been played as much as it has – it sounds great!

But all that playing is apparent on the top with a “Willie Nelson” wear mark around the soundhole and pickguard (possibly not original) that has been filled in.

Frets show some wear but still have lots of life left, and there are normal scratches and players wear.

The block inlays are a bit of a mystery but having consulted a VERY knowledgeable expert in vintage guitars and amps, the conclusion is it most likely came from the factory that way. Gibson, as did other builders, would sometimes change the specifications or features of a guitar if there was a small issue to save time and money. Possibly in this case an issue with the dot inlays.

It’s marked as a 2nd meaning there was a small cosmetic blemish or something that deviated from spec originally from the factory (inlays?).

This vintage J-50 is a wonderful sounding guitar that’s perfect someone who’s not looking for collector, but wants a night after night solid player.

It comes with the original Gibson case.

This is your chance to own a cool, unique and great playing Gibson J-50 for a great price!
