A rare, sought-after and collectable vintage Fender Champ from 1957.
Known for their classic tone and ease of use, the Tweed Champ is an amp almost every Studio should have in their arsenal and every collector wants.
This Champ is great sounding amp. Unlike some of the others we’ve had, this one breaks up quite quickly giving a nice, gnarly overdrive. But it will still sing a good clean tone as well.
Overall, this amp is quite original with just the handle having been replaced many years ago with what looks to be a homemade one. It looks good and functions well. We replaced the original two-prong outlet with a three prong for safety (original is included with the amp).
Other than that, it does appear original. The internals -caps, wiring, etc all look correct and it has the original Oxford speaker.
This amp came to us with a poorly done brown paint job. We removed the brown to reveal the original tweed while leaving most of the lacquer still intact.
If you are looking for a Champ with character and mojo and not a museum piece, this is it!
