Looking for a guitar with big yet balanced tone?

Check out this beautiful 1996 Gibson J-100 Xtra.

With it’s solid spruce top and mahogany or bubinga –not 100% sure it’s bubinga since we don’t have the original documentation– back and sides it has a pronounced tone that is not as ‘boomy’ as sometimes associated with the jumbo sized guitars. It has lots of bottom end but it also has nice warm mids and highs.

This guitar is in very good to excellent condition with great action and very little fret wear. Playability is excellent.

It does have some odd markings on the headstock that are under the finish. Not sure what caused it but it obviously does not affect sound or playability. And it’s also not apparent at first glance.

There are a few very small marks and scratches that I’ve tried to capture in the photos.

While the J-200 is the more well known Gibson jumbo, the J-100 has all the character, tone and playability all at a better price!
